Decision guide

Knee replacement or arthroscopy?

Two different operations can appear in the same search. An orthopaedic assessment determines whether either is appropriate.

They address different problems

Arthroscopy uses small incisions to inspect or treat selected problems inside a joint. Knee replacement replaces damaged joint surfaces. They are not interchangeable shortcuts.
