What to do in a medical emergency

Call for urgent help, give a clear location and follow the dispatcher’s instructions.

Call now for severe symptoms

Call 112 or the hospital emergency desk for loss of consciousness, severe breathing difficulty, chest pain, heavy bleeding, a major injury or sudden stroke symptoms.

While help is coming

  • Make sure the scene is safe for you and the patient.
  • Give the exact location, callback number and a short description of what happened.
  • Follow the emergency dispatcher’s instructions.
  • Do not move someone with a possible serious neck, back or limb injury unless there is immediate danger.
