If diabetes is new, persistent, worsening or affecting daily activity, a clinician can assess the cause and explain the available next steps.

Where to start

• Book with Diabetology & Diabetic Foot Care or ask the appointments desk which specialist is appropriate.
• Bring previous reports, scans, prescriptions and a list of current medicines.
• Use emergency services for severe or rapidly worsening symptoms rather than waiting for an appointment.
